Iznik Route from History to Nature

İznik, which had been the capital of 4 different civilizations in the past and is on UNESCO World Heritage Tentative list, is an attraction center where you will spend every moment of your trip in full with its nature, history and tile production. İznik is located at an altitude of about 200 meters among the olive groves. İznik is also one of the most important cities in the history of Christianity due to the meeting of I. and VII. Consuls gathered here.
The first route of the tour is the Lefke Gate, which defies the time, where you can see the traces of Roman, Byzantine, Seljuk and Ottoman civilizations in its structure. You can continue your İznik tour by watching the view of İznik and the lake from the place of Abdülvahab Sancaktar Tomb, which has a viewing terrace. The next route after Abdulvahab Hill is the Heracles figure in relief made on the eastern surface of the rocky mass located in the southeast of Deliktaş, which is thought to have been a sacred ceremony place in ancient times and gave its name to the site. The last stop is the Elbeyli Hipoje, which is known to have been built in the 4th and 5th centuries, and its ceiling and walls are covered with colorful frescoes typical of the Early Christian Period, with compositions created with peacocks, and also the colors are well preserved.
