Consuls gathered here. You can start your İznik tour by watching the view of İznik and the lake from the place of Abdülvahab Sancaktar Tomb. The next stop is Lefke Gate, which defies the time, where you can see the traces of Roman, Byzantine, Seljuk and Ottoman civilizations in its structure. From this point, the route will continue on foot. The Green Mosque, which is one of the best examples of Seljuk-Ottoman architecture with its magnificent minaret and located near Lefke Gate. Just opposite the mosque you will face with Nilüfer Hatun Imaret, which is also the İznik Museum today. You can watch the tile painting techniques of local artists at the Süleyman Pasha Madrasa, which was one of the first universities of the Ottoman Empire. And then You can see the traces of both Christianity and Islamic culture in İznik Hagia Sophia-Orhan Mosque where the VII. Consul was gathered. If you come to İznik on Ekinoks dates, you can watch the magnificent view of the sunset, which is one of the best sunset of the world, on the shore of Lake İznik with a cup of tea.
