The story of the Silkworm is in the world showcase

Within the scope of the “Bursa Silk Comes to Life” project, The book titled “The Life Story of Silkworm” prepared by Dr. İsmail Şeker became a scientific reference to the academic world.

With the aim of transferring the intangible cultural heritage to future generations, the works brought to the city’s memory by the Metropolitan Municipality are making a worldwide impression.

Within the scope of the “Bursa Silk Comes to Life” project, “The Life Story of the Silkworm” prepared by Dr. İsmail Şeker and published by Bursa Kültür A.Ş. has become a scientific reference to the academic world. The scientific study, in which the life stages of Silkworm were written in English and Turkish with the photographs taken by Şeker, who was also a master photographer, became one of the source works in the Kazakhstan Farabi University Library, which is one of the largest libraries in Asia and has more than 3 million books.

“The Life Story of the Silkworm”, which is referenced in many school libraries in Europe and Asia, also meets its readers at the Swiss Lausanne Turkish Union Library. The book was also accepted in the cultural inventories of the Chinese Embassy in Ankara, the Chinese Culture and Trade Attaché whose country is the starting point of the Silk Road, and the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture of the Georgia State University, and it has also inspired many photographers. The story of Silkworm from egg to butterfly is told in the work, which reveals the development of silk in Bursa in all its aspects in the presence of photographs and scientific data.
