Silk carpets of Bursa at Kumkapı Carpets Exhibition

BURSA SILK HITS ITS MARK AT THE KUMKAPI CARPETS EXHIBITION FROM THE ARKAS COLLECTION ORGANIZED WITHIN THE SCOPE OF THE ISTANBUL CARPET WEEK.
Istanbul Governor Vasip Şahin, Istanbul Provincial Culture and Tourism Director Coşkun Yılmaz and Arkas Holding Chairman Lucien Arkas attended the event at the Museum of Turkish and Islamic Arts.
Umurbey Silk Production and Design Center, which participated in the Istanbul Carpet Fair, organized by the Istanbul Carpet Exporters’ Association, attracted great attention with its live lectures and silk carpets woven with traditional Bursa motifs. Due to this great interest, Bursa Metropolitan Municipality received a special invitation to the exhibition titled Kumkapı Carpets from Arkas Collection, organized by the Istanbul Carpet Exporters Association and Arkas Holding.
Istanbul Governor Vasip Şahin, who participated in the opening of the exhibition, visited the Umurbey Silk Production and Design Center stand and learned about the works. Şahin helped to remove the silk carpet, which was produced with the Kayıklı Mosque pattern, from his counter during the exhibition and congratulated the Bursa Metropolitan Municipality for his work.
The Chairman of the Turkish Bazaar Federation Muhsin Özyıldırım and Mesut Ceylan, the owner of the Silk House store in Bursa Kozahan, were present at the program, and the silk carpet and carpet merchants working in national and international fields were contacted and informed about the works.
