Bursa Silk made its debut

Bursa Silk became the favorite of ‘BURTEKS Fashion Fabric Show Fair held at Merinos AKKM.

The applications about the adventure of silk from cocoon to product exhibited at the booth of Bursa Kültür A.Ş. attracted great attention of the visitors.

The works of the Metropolitan Municipality “in order to keep the intangible cultural heritage alive” and on Bursa Silk were displayed at the “BURTEKS Fashion Fabric Show Fair”. The stand of Bursa Kültür A.Ş. attracted great attention at the fair, which was held in Merinos Atatürk Congress and Culture Center (Merinos AKKM) and attended by 360 business people from 36 countries. There were various applications on Bursa Silk at the stand; From cocoon to carpet weaving, from silk cocoons to yarn production. The products produced by Kültür A.Ş. with the “İpekhane” brand became the center of attention of the visitors with their quality and designs.

Foreigners admired
procurement delegations from Russia, Ukraine, Iran and North African countries attended to the fair whose opening was done by Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BTSO) Vice Chairman İsmail Kuş and Bursa City Council Chairman Hasan Çepni. Visitors from Poland, Lithuania, Mexico, Ghana, Canada, South Africa, USA, Mexico, England, Georgia, Netherlands, Iran, Serbia, Greece, France, Romania, Morocco, Algeria, UAE, Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan also took part in the fair and carefully studied the products.

Main Destination: World markets
Bursa Kültür A.Ş. General Manager Fehim Ferik said that silk carpets and other products woven in silk weaving workshops of the Metropolitan Municipality attracted great attention during the fair attended by “representatives from 72 sectors”. Stressing that Metropolitan Mayor Alinur Aktaş attaches great importance to the production of silk materials and that they are making efforts to provide silk procurement resources from Bilecik Eskişehir Bursa Development Agency (BEBKA). Ferik also stated that the negotiations regarding the sale of the products produced from Bursa silk in Mısır Çarşısı (the Egyptian Bazaar) in Istanbul to the tourists still continue.

Bursa will be a center of attraction
BTSO Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors İsmail Kuş reminded that Bursa is a textile city in his statement. Expressing that studies are continuing to evaluate Bursa as a fair city as well as its industrial identity, Kuş said, “We want our companies to reach a serious trade volume with the procurement delegation programs. Due to their contributions to the organization, I would like to thank the Ministry of Economy, BUTTIM and the representatives of the sector ”.
